I know I have a hard time letting people know who I am and what I do because I don’t want to come across as being conceited. I’m proud of and happy about what I’m doing, and I’m glad you said there’s a way to let others know without seeming overly proud. Thanks for the tips!

This is really a great thought to put on th brain. In my work environment, I tried my best not to socialize too much because I feared that it could lead to office gossip, which I DID NOT want to be involved in.. From what you say here, I realize that there can be a balance. We just have to be aware of our conversations and just be friendly without being caught up in the drama.

Think about it like this – you’re more likely to refer and work with someone you know who happens to do a good job… as opposed to someone who just does a good job that you don’t know. So take as many opportunities as you can to show your coworkers and your boss the REAL Tammy. Connect with them and watch what happens. They’re bored, twiddling their thumbs and wanting to be somewhere else too! Plus we all have to be together 8 hours a day – thats more time than our families get during the week. Might as well make it as pleasant as possible while you’re there.

I LOVE Anilia! I was listening to that as well this morning and I am one of those individuals who come to work, do my job, and leave. I must admit that I do have one very close Jewish friend that I associate with in and outside of the workplace but aside from that…..no. I always said that my work speaks for itself! I even skip outings (coincidentally like the one we have scheduled for tomorrow) company parties, etc. You have definitely made me rethink my position! Thanks for Motivating me, again and again, to do and be BETTER!!
