2013 Does Not Matter

I wanted to wait until after New Year’s Day to give you this shocking message.

I hope you were expecting me to write about how awesome 2013 is going to be, how you’ll reach all your goals, and how this will be your best year yet.

But I’m not feeling that for you.

What you need to hear, more than what you want to hear, is the truth. And the truth is, 2013 doesn’t matter.

If you need the start of a new year to roll around in order to feel good about reaching your goals, then you’ve missed the point. And if you waited until January 1st to even think about or start planning your goals, then chances are they won’t happen.

It’s not my intent to be a Debbie Downer but to help you see the flaw in the way the majority of people think.

The majoriy thinks that they should wait until tomorrow to start, that they need to begin at some pre-determined time, that whenever they decide to put in the work, things will be ok.

This is partly true.

The whole truth is that time waits for no man. You need to get started today. No matter what day ‘today’ happens to be. Whether its a Sunday, the last day in December or just a regular old day. The Universe is working behind the scenes to orchestrate your wildest dreams – its just waiting for you to step up and meet it. So every day you wait, you delay the start of something big.

There’s nothing wrong with being in the majority. But I don’t think that’s where you really should be.

You were born with certain talents and abilities that set you apart from everyone else. That’s why you have the dreams and goals that you have.

So when you lump yourself in with everyone else, you’re assuming that you’re ordinary. But you’re not. You are extraordinary.

Extraordinary people don’t wait around for the right time to start. They make the time right by starting.

So which one do you choose to be today? Your choice is what really matters. Not the date on the calendar.
